How to create a digital invitation in about three minutes

Before you start

Open the invitation maker. There’s no sign-up wall — build the whole invitation first, then create a free account at the very last step. Have these handy:

• Your event title, date, time and venue
• Your guests’ email addresses — you can paste the whole list at once
• Optional: a photo, a dress code, and anything guests should know

Step 1 — Choose your event

Pick one of ten event types: Wedding, Reception, Birthday, Baby Shower, Dinner Party, Graduation — or one of the four holiday types, Halloween Party, Friendsgiving, Holiday Party and New Year’s Eve.

The event type sets the tone of your AI-written message, and each holiday type switches your invitation to its matching theme automatically. More on that in the holiday invitations guide.

Step 2 — Add your event details

   Title, date and time

   These three are required. You can add an end time too.

   Venue and hosts

   Add the venue name and address, and the host names guests will see (“Hosted by…”).

   A custom link (optional)

   Claim a short link like fete.rsvp/yourname for a shareable event page. See how custom pages work.

   Your message

   Press AI Assist ✨ and Fête drafts invitation wording in a tone matched to your event type. It also runs on its own when you pick an event type and the message is empty. Edit it freely — it’s your voice.

Step 3 — Finishing touches

Everything here is optional, but it’s where an invitation starts to feel like yours:

• Hero image — PNG, JPG or GIF up to 10MB (sign in to upload). On your RSVP and event pages it becomes a gently animated living photo.
• Dress code and special note — costume rules, parking tips, “adults only”, whatever guests need to know.
• Max capacity — how many guests your venue can hold.
• Video invitation — paste a YouTube or Instagram link. YouTube videos get an AI thumbnail score out of 10.
• Celebration effect — Confetti, Champagne Pop, Fireworks or Sparkles.

Step 4 — Add guests and send

You’ll see Invitations Sent! with a shortcut to your dashboard, where responses start appearing as guests reply.

   Add your guest list

   Paste email addresses separated by commas or new lines, or type one and press Enter. Each becomes a chip you can remove with ×.

   Set an RSVP deadline

   Let guests know when you need their answer — it’s shown as “Please RSVP by…” on your custom page.

   Press “Send Invitations →”

   Not signed in yet? You’ll be asked to create a free account — your invitation is saved, and you land right back where you left off to finish sending.

What your guests receive

• An email from invites@fete.rsvp with the subject “You’re Invited: your event title”. If a guest hits reply, it goes straight to your inbox.
• A View Invitation & RSVP button that opens their personal invitation — an envelope sealed in wax with your initials. One tap opens it; no app, no account.
• One tap on Joyfully Accept (or decline) and they’re on your list. Then they can add a plus-one, dietary needs, a song request and a note to you.
• After accepting, they can add the event to Google or Apple Calendar and share it with friends.
