How to choose (and customize) the perfect invitation theme

A theme dresses your whole invitation — the invite card, the RSVP page, your event page and the email guests receive. Here’s how to find the right one, try it on, and make it yours.

Switching themes in the invitation maker

  • On a computer: the color dots under the live preview — “Theme — click a color to restyle”. Hover a dot to see its name; the preview restyles instantly.
  • On a phone: the labeled theme strip under the form, on every step. Tap 👁️ to see the full preview.
  • Switch as often as you like, at any step — your details and message stay put.

Start from a theme you love

  • Browse the theme gallery — filter by All Themes, Classic, or Seasonal & Limited, click a card for a live preview, then press Use This Theme to open the invitation maker with it selected.
  • The holiday pages open the maker with their theme ready to go: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Any link like fete.rsvp/create?theme=christmas opens the maker with that theme preselected — handy for sending a co-host straight to the look you picked.

Bring your photo to life

Upload a hero image in the Finishing Touches step and Fête turns it into a living photo on your RSVP page, event page and custom page: a slow, cinematic zoom with ambient particles that match your theme.

Fine-tune colors and fonts (Pro)

Pro hosts get the Theme Customizer beside the preview on a computer. Start from any of the 20 themes, then adjust the Background, Accent and Text colors with color pickers and choose one of eight font pairings — Classic, Modern, Elegant, Playful, Minimal, Serif, Bold or Romantic. Reset to Theme Defaults takes you back anytime.

Questions, answered

Are the seasonal and holiday themes free?+

Yes. All 20 themes, including every seasonal theme, are included on the Free plan and available year-round.

Does the theme apply to the email too?+

Yes — your theme styles the invitation email, the RSVP page, your event page and the link preview image when you share it.

Why isn’t my photo moving?+

The living-photo animation respects each visitor’s reduced-motion setting. If a device asks for less motion, the photo is shown still.
